This 2003 Blue Mazda Protoge looked good from a distance, but up close the paint was covered with hard-water spots. These stains are insoluable residue left over from evaporated water, like the kind of crud that gets left behind when a pot of water boils dry.

Lots of water spots on the hood and windshield.
And although the car hood is clean, the reflections are blurred
with spider-haze.
| We removed the surface contaminants with a clay-bar process, and then removed oxidation and swirl marks with a mild polish and an random-orbital buffer. Now the water spots are gone, and the paint looks almost liquid. Notice the reflection of the clouds! | ||
